Four-way entry and gusseted storm canopies give buyers much more control over airflow than a basic envelope swag.

What matters when buying a single swag

Single versus king-single
A 900mm swag is roomy solo territory. It gives most sleepers useful shoulder room and space for small personal items without crossing into double-swag bulk. Width labels are not perfectly standard, so compare the actual open and packed dimensions.
Ventilation matters in Australian conditions

Mattress thickness is only one comfort measure

Weather protection is a system
Look for proofed or seam-sealed canvas, a proper bucket floor, protected openings and storm covers. Real-world rain performance also depends on drainage, site selection, maintenance, damage and whether doors and vents are adjusted for the conditions.
Setup and pack-down
Freestanding hoop-and-ridge designs create useful internal volume but take more handling than a traditional envelope swag. Exact stopwatch claims are not useful without repeatable testing; focus instead on pole count, freestanding stability, roll size and how easily one person can lift the packed swag.
